From a new restaurant in Williams Lake and a commercial shop in 100 Mile House to major facilities in the Bella Coola and Nemiah valleys, our work reflects the range of environments, industries and communities we serve.
Williams Lake
Ming’s Place Restaurant
Client: Sprucelee Construction Ltd.
Location: Williams Lake, BC
The Project
Ming’s Place was a new 3,100 sq. ft. commercial restaurant requiring a complete electrical system from initial design through final commissioning.
Restaurant construction brings unique electrical demands, including high-load kitchen equipment, refrigeration, ventilation systems, lighting and power distribution. The electrical scope also evolved during construction, requiring changes to be incorporated while coordinating closely with the general contractor and other trades.
Our Work
D&S Electric provided complete design/build commercial electrical services, giving the general contractor one point of responsibility for the electrical scope from planning through completion.
Our work included:
Complete electrical design and layout
Electrical rough-in and final installation
Commercial kitchen power and dedicated equipment circuits
Connections for cooking equipment, refrigeration and ventilation systems
Exhaust fan and thermostat-control integration
Lighting throughout the dining, kitchen and service areas
Power distribution, receptacles and circuit layouts
Permitting, inspections, testing and commissioning
As the project evolved, our team coordinated electrical changes with Sprucelee Construction and the other trades to keep the work moving with the overall construction schedule.
The Results
Ming’s Place received a complete, code-compliant electrical system designed specifically for the demands of a modern commercial restaurant.
By providing both the electrical design and installation, D&S Electric was able to coordinate the system as one complete package—from initial planning through final testing and inspection.

100 Mile House & South Cariboo
LWS Manufacturing Commercial Shop
Client: LWS Manufacturing
Location: 100 Mile House, BC

The Project
LWS Manufacturing required a complete electrical installation for a commercial outbuilding at its 100 Mile House property.
The project included a new 100A service and distribution panel, feeder and branch circuit wiring, lighting, receptacles, controls and electrical infrastructure for future heating equipment.
During the work, D&S Electric also identified existing wiring deficiencies and circuit issues that needed to be corrected to ensure the completed system was safe, reliable and code compliant.
Our Work
D&S Electric provided commercial electrical services for the new shop, completing the installation from service and distribution through final testing and commissioning.
Our work included:
New 100A disconnect and distribution panel
Feeder and branch circuit wiring
Receptacles, switches and electrical devices
Interior LED and exterior flood lighting
Troubleshooting and correction of existing wiring deficiencies
Dedicated circuits and controls for future unit heaters
Exit signage and additional switching
Panel and breaker labelling
Final energizing, testing and commissioning
The project was journeyman-led and completed under FSR supervision, with the electrical system fully tested before handover.
The Results
LWS Manufacturing received a complete, fully commissioned electrical system providing dependable power and efficient lighting throughout the new shop.
Planning for future unit heaters during the initial installation also means the equipment can be added later without substantially modifying the completed electrical system. Correcting existing wiring issues and clearly labelling the new distribution further improved the building’s safety and ease of maintenance.

Cariboo-Chilcotin
Xeni Gwet’in Nation Community Centre
Client: Xeni Gwet’in Nation

Location: Nemiah Valley, BC
Completed: November 2025

The Project
The Xeni Gwet’in Nation was constructing a new full-service community centre in the remote Nemiah Valley. Designed as an important gathering place for the community, the facility includes a gymnasium, commercial kitchen, meeting and gathering areas, mezzanine, washrooms, motorized bleachers and stage, along with renewable-energy infrastructure and a wide range of electrical and technology systems.
The size and remote location of the project required careful coordination of specialty equipment, long lead-time materials, multiple trades and an electrical scope that continued to evolve throughout construction.
Our Work
D&S Electric completed the electrical subcontract from rough-in through final commissioning.
Our work included:
Main electrical service, distribution, panels and branch circuits
Commercial kitchen electrical systems
Power and controls for motorized bleachers and stage
Interior, exterior, exit and emergency lighting
Fire alarm system
Data and communications infrastructure
Security and audio/video systems in coordination with Lake City Security
Underground infrastructure for backup generation, photovoltaic solar and Battery Energy Storage System connections
Testing, inspections and commissioning
Working deep in the Chilcotin made preparation especially important. Materials and specialty equipment were staged in advance, deliveries were coordinated around road access and weather conditions, and long lead-time components were ordered early to help keep the project moving. Our crews also spent extended periods working away from home to maintain progress on site.
The Results
The completed community centre provides the Xeni Gwet’in Nation with a modern, multi-purpose facility supporting community gatherings, recreation, meetings, events, food service and other activities.
Its electrical infrastructure also supports renewable-energy and backup-power systems, helping create greater resilience in a remote location where dependable infrastructure is especially important.

Central Coast
DFO Hagensborg Welcome Centre
Client: Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada
General Contractor: Sprucelee Construction Ltd.
Location: Hagensborg, BC — Bella Coola Valley
Completed: October 2024
Field Work: Approximately 705 hours
The Project
The new DFO Hagensborg Welcome Centre required a complete electrical installation for a federal facility in the remote Bella Coola Valley.
The project included the main electrical service, underground infrastructure, power distribution, branch wiring and a substantial interior and exterior lighting package.
Working in the Bella Coola Valley also made material planning and logistics particularly important. A forgotten component or last-minute supply requirement could result in significant delays, making careful staging and coordination essential from the beginning.

When the lighting design was revised during construction, D&S Electric worked with Sprucelee Construction, the design team and suppliers to coordinate the changes, materials and updated installation while keeping the overall project moving.
Our experience working throughout the Bella Coola Valley also helped us anticipate the logistical requirements and pre-stage materials and equipment before crews travelled to site.
The Results
The completed Welcome Centre provides Fisheries and Oceans Canada with a fully functioning electrical system supporting staff, researchers and public-facing operations in the Bella Coola Valley.
The project was completed despite the logistical challenges associated with working in a remote region and maintained a strong working relationship between D&S Electric, Sprucelee Construction and the other project partners.
